On the 11th of April 2026, I had the profound honour of paying tribute to Ambuya Madhuve at the Ecobank Legends Night.
Some opportunities feel bigger than a performance. They feel like a responsibility. Standing on that stage, celebrating a woman whose music and legacy have touched so many lives, was one of those moments for me.
Ambuya Madhuve’s contribution to our cultural heritage is immeasurable. Through her music, she carried stories, traditions, and wisdom across generations, preserving a part of who we are and where we come from. To honour her through song was both humbling and deeply meaningful.
That evening was a beautiful reminder of the importance of recognising our legends while their impact continues to inspire us. It was a celebration of heritage, resilience, and the timeless power of music to connect us across generations.
I left the stage with a full heart and immense gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a special night.
Some legends never fade. They live on in every story told, every song sung, and every life they have touched. 🤍
